About Beet Cultivation:

Begin sowing seeds when soil has warmed somewhat after thawing in the spring. Sow about 10 seeds per foot, 1/2" deep in a row or scattered in a band. For large beets, thin to a spacing of 4-6" apart. For a continuous supply of baby beets or greens, sow every 14 days until late July. Remember that the thinnings are great tasting and an excellent vitamin and iron source.
