- Definition Of Heirloom Seeds
Products > Heirloom Vegetable Seeds > Beans Lima and Wax
The bean is a tender, warm season vegetable that ranks second to tomato in popularity in home gardens. Shell and Dry beans are planted the same way as bush beans. They should be planted after all danger of frost is past in the spring. Coat bean seeds with bean and pea inoculant if they are to be planted in an area where legumes have never been grown.
Direct sow at 1-1.5" deep, 2-3" apart in a single row spaced 30-36" apart or a double row spaced 8" apart. Keep weed free. Pods are ready to pick when they are mature and brown in color. Do not over water beans as they will drown.
