- Definition Of Heirloom Seeds
Products > Heirloom Vegetable Seeds > Gourds
Plant seeds 1/2-1" deep, 2-3 seeds per hill, spaced 2-3' apart in late spring or early summer. After emergence, thin to one healthy plant per hill. When gourds are fully matured and firm, cut from vine. Wash with alcohol, vinegar or bleach to kill bacteria that may spoil the gourd. Use for fall decorations or dry in a cool, dry place. Scrape off old dried skin using a brush and dish soap. Let dry and use for crafts.
